Vanessa Thomas – Our choir leader

Vanessa is an experienced choir leader, professional singer, music educator and pianist with a passion for helping students of all ages and abilities realise their musical potential and goals.Her careeer has seen her in the roles of musical director and conductor of numerous choirs, which have performed at major venues & festivals such as The Royal Festival Hall, Brighton Dome and Paddle Round the Pier, as well as being featured on TV and radio.

Vanessa is excited and enthusiastic about rehearsing with Soul of the City Choir and welcomes everyone to come along… throughout her years of teaching she has not yet met anyone who truly cannot sing!

The choir is a great opportunity to sing, socialise and meet new people (many of us head to the pub after each choir practice!). With the sessions being up-beat you’re bound to have a fantastic time!

The choir sing pop, soul & gospel classics from The Beatles to Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon to Bob Marley & many more! Gone are the days when singing was at the centre of the community, bringing people together from all walks of life... we'd like to do something about that.

There are no auditions to join this community choir and it is open to all levels of experience and ability.

Try our Brighton choir for FREE

We now offer new members the chance to try our choirs for free.

Our 12 week term fee is £70. We have 3 terms a year, starting in January, April & September.

Our next term for Brighton runs every Tuesday from 23rd April - 9th July. We'd love to sing with you, why not give it a try!?
