With just over 2 weeks to go till we take to the stage for our end of term summer gig, we are polishing up all our songs for your listening pleasure and we can’t wait to perform them for you!
As you may know, every year we support a new local charity throughout Brighton and Hove and as previously mentioned this term’s charity is the brilliant Brighton and Hove Food Partnership, which puts food at the heart of all they do. They believe growing food, cooking and eating are great ways to improve people’s lives.
Here are a few great things they offer throughout the city -
- The Community Kitchen – A kitchen and cookery school where people can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food together.
- Food Poverty Advice – Offering advice and signposting to different organisations throughout the city that can support with accessing food banks, Local Discretionary Fund, access to cooking equipment, eating well on a budget and access to low cost cooking courses.
- Volunteering - Anyone can get involved by volunteering with one of over 70 community gardens and orchards across the city.
- Business donations – If you are a food business, event organiser or organisation anticipating a surplus of food that can be safely donated to a food project, then this great charity can help you to do just that!
